Made Easy Saturday: Cutting a Pineapple

Fresh pineapple is sweet treat perfect for summery fruit salads, dinners, and just to eat as a snack! Although pineapple makes a sweet treat, many are stumped when faced with cutting the fruit. Here’s how to cut a pineapple properly so you can add it to all your summer dishes without struggle!

With a chef’s knife, remove the crown and the base. Stand the pineapple upright and cut down the length to remove the eyes and rind in strips.

Cut pineapple into quarters; remove the core.

  1. I slice them in about 1″ rings and just peel the ring and cut in chunks. if you don’t need the whole pineapple then, just turn the cut side down on a saucer and put in refrigerator until you want another slice.

  2. I never eat canned pineapple anymore…only fresh! It is so sweet and juicy. I also cut pineapple in the manner shown above. I used to use a pineapple cutter but after a dozen or so pineapples it became dull. Many stores will cut it for you free of charge.
