Grabbing all Whisks, Spoons and some great fall recipes……

The start of the fall cooking school season has just kicked off around the country. We have been busy packing our vans with all the equipment and supplies that we will need to create the 10 mouth-watering recipes that we will be making on stage during the Taste of Home Cooking Schools.
Fall is such a great time to be in the kitchen as the weather begins to cool down and some of the fall fruits and vegetables begin to appear in the stores. Apples and pears are some of my favorite fall fruits and are featured in the Autumn Tossed Salad. This scrumptious salad features pears, apples and cranberries and a simple but fresh homemade dressing.

“When you take this wonderful salad to a holiday gathering or serve it at home, you will get rave reviews and many requests for the recipe,” predicts field editor Edie DeSpain of Logan, Utah.

If you are looking for inspiration for your fall menus there is no better place to find it than at a Taste of Home Cooking School where you will find real home cooks and tried and tested recipes for everyday as well as special occasions. As a sneak preview I will tell you that one of my favorite recipes this season is the Upside Down Apple Pie. I have been making pies for years so having a new recipe with a tasty twist is refreshing and totally delicious as well! It has already become a “must have” pie at our house.
I was just in Tyler, Texas for my first show.  Next up – Bryan, Texas.  I hope to see many new and returning Taste of Home fans along the way.

  1. Please, Please, Please have a show in Central to Western NM or even as west as Show Low Arizona. The closest show I have found to attend was in southern Arizona, 200 miles away.
I have attended twice with friends but, it really wears you to drive 4 hours of mountain terrain to go to a 3 hour show. LOVE you, Mary.
