Let’s Roll

When I last left you it was all about sun & fun in my gardens and a return from a great vacation down the Jersey shore with my family but now the pressure’s on! We’ve just completed our fall season of recipe testing, stage language, stealing the best tips and tricks from each other (don’t tell em I said that) and coming together as a group to bring across our point that our attendees and sponsors are always our most treasured friends. By the end of our 2012 show season we’ll have seen 300,000 attendees with nearly many of you visiting us on tasteofhome.com/cookingschool. All Cooking School attendees all receive loaded goodie bags, a chance to purchase great Taste of Home Cookbooks (a great gift for the holidays!), exciting vendor booth areas, informative live cooking demos and a chance to unite with other caring home cooks who love to share ideas from their kitchens.

The Cooking School team with King Gambrinus

Our team had a unique opportunity to tour “The Best Place” on the site of the historic Pabst Brewing Company. That’s us with King Gabrinus, the unofficial patron saint of beer, and allegedly where the idea for the Burger King mascot came from.

This circa 1941 photo shows part of the 7 acre site that originally had 28 buildings, produced millions of gallons of beer and thousands of jobs over 150 years. What an experience! We then ended our evening with our “Golden Whisk Awards”, a fun dig at ourselves over the past year with our favorite Senior Culinary Special, Michelle “Red” Roberts receiving top honors for her ten years with Taste of Home by singing us home with her rendition of “Up to the Mountain” by Patti Griffin. (Not a dry eye in the house)  We’ve had such a great time with our entire group during our 8 day symposium stay here in Greendale, WI. We finished our last few days having make-up applied for our photo shoots and videos, finalizing our show notes, packing vans and saying our heartfelt goodbyes

It truly is my pleasure to work for such an incredible team at Taste of Home and can honestly say I have NEVER been associated with a stronger and more loving team of dedicated coworkers.

As I’ve signed off in the past, come see what all the love and hard work’s about. Go to TasteofHome.com/FindClass to find a show in your area!
