I was in Ogden last night for a show at Weber State University, and had a great time, as always! Despite some technical difficulties with my equipment, the show continued, thanks to the fantastic assistance of some great ladies with the Utah State University Extension Service. Sharon, Carol, Rachel, Alex and Nicki helped me prepare all of the recipes during our morning set-up, then returned to assist during the show. They always do a great job, and I enjoy working with them each time I’m in Ogden.
If you were at the show last night, we finished things up with an unusual twist to the Chocolate Strawberry Shortcakes . . . Darth Vader Shortcakes, anyone?? For those of you who weren’t there, we have a delicious Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake recipe in our show, and as I was topping it off with some whipped cream and hot fudge, I started to hear some whisperings in the audience that it looked like Darth Vader. I didn’t understand what people were saying, but then I took another look – the hot fudge had settled on top of the whipped cream in the shape of Darth Vader’s helmet!! As a huge Star Wars fan, I was most impressed with my inadvertent artistic ability with the hot fudge. I’m still waiting to see if anyone snapped a picture of it, so if you happen to have one, feel free to send it to me on my Facebook page!
I’m headed to Washington next week for two shows, then it’s off to Oregon, California and Nevada before I finish up back in Utah. If you haven’t made it to a show yet this spring, make sure to check our schedule to see if there are any close to you!
