The Spring Taste of Home Cooking School has started at we are out in communities across the nation with our newest recipes, tips and tricks for all of our fans, foodies and anyone who just likes to have fun. The season kicked off for me in Stillwater, OK– home of the Oklahoma State Cowboys and my alma mater. It was an evening of food, fashion and great prizes. During the intermission Dress Barn did a nice fashion show and Leonard’s Jewelry was on hand to send some OSU earrings worth $290 home with one delighted attendee. She was so excited about the earrings that she put them on right away and couldn’t wait to show them off to others in the crowd.
After an eventful night in Stillwater it was off to Dallas for the next show. In Dallas the show was in conjunction with the Dallas Home and Garden Show. The attendees in Dallas were so eager for a show and they loved the Shrimp Bisque and the Stonefire Naan recipe. The grand prize was a huge stainless steel grill and one lucky winner wheel that beauty right out the door.
But really everyone who comes to the show goes home as winner because they are equipped with new skills, recipes and renewed inspiration for cooking. Sometimes just seeing a recipe done in a live setting like the Taste of Home Cooking is enough to jump start the creative juices and empower new and seasoned cooks alike to fresh cooking adventures. Well, that’s my job anyway and I love it…….
While in Dallas I had the opportunity to see my first live NBA game. Near where the show was held the Dallas Mavericks were playing the Utah Jazz, it was such a great time.
I am off to shows in Nacogdoches and Athens, TX before heading back to Oklahoma. The weather is beautiful and it is a great time to be on the road with Taste of Home! See you along the way and don’t forget to check out my Facebook page at Jamie Dunn (Taste of Home Culinary Specialist)
