Mardi Gras Resolutions

Today is Mardi Gras, and I’m celebrating like never before! This past weekend I was honored with yet another birthday…which one, you might ask?  Well, I’ll keep that to myself. With the fact that I’m not getting any younger also comes the realization that I should make every day count!

The definition of Mardi Gras is “to partake in food, drink and fun before the beginning of fasting for the Catholic holiday Lent”. Even though you may not be Catholic, or you don’t run down to New Orleans to watch the parade or collect colorful beads, you can still be a part of the carnival tradition through good food.

Here are some of my favorite Taste of Home Mardi Gras recipes that will be on my family’s table tonight.  Be sure to ‘click’ on the PICTURE of the dish, and it will take you to the recipe!

Bon Appetit!

  1. Love the article, however, the observance of Lent is not JUST a Catholic celebration – a number of Protestant faiths observe Lent as well!

  2. All dishes looks palatable and I bet they are.

How I wish you try the Swedish bun (eaten every 21st of February “FAT DAY, called “Semla”.
A very Scandinavian or Viking way §;-)

TY a mill for sharing the recipes.

    Greetings from freezing Stockholm,
