One of my favorites is the “Spider Web Dip with Bat Tortilla Chips”. The dip is made with a delicious combination of cream cheese, salsa and guacamole. Yumm! And, the spider web effect on the top of the dip is made by placing a few tablespoons of sour cream in a plastic storage bag. You simply snip off the tip of one corner on the bag and pipe out circles. Finally, a knife is carefully pulled through the sour cream to create the web.
Making your own tortilla chips from purchased flour tortillas is so easy. Cut the tortillas into shapes with your favorite fall cookie cutters. If you don’t have a bat-shaped cutter, use whatever you do have — leaves, ghosts, or pumpkins would also work well. Crisp them up in the oven at 350 degrees for 5 to 8 minutes.
